Our beloved founder, “Bad Bob” Salerno (1953-2021) started Virtual Snow LA in 1997. A two-time World Champion freestyle skier, Bob helped pioneer the world of extreme skiing and breathe life back into the sport. He devoted most of his life to “making skiers outta people,” as his son (and now owner of Virtual Snow LA) Rob Salerno would say.

Bob has shared the gift of his incredible knowledge and passion for skiing & snowboarding to tens of thousands of people. He was recognized for his significant contribution to the world of skiing when he was inducted into the Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame in 2016.

Bob’s recent passing has left a hole in the hearts of the Virtual Snow community, but Virtual Snow will continue on as a living tribute to this legendary soul, who you can still train with — virtually — through the videos on our simulators. We love you, Bob. FLY IN PEACE.
